My name is Miyuki Futonaka. I came to Amsterdam from Tokyo in the summer of 2023 due to my husband’s work. This is not my first time living outside of Japan, but it is the first time I have lived in a foreign country without children, as they are adults now, and I found that for the first few months, my husband was the only person I could talk to in person. When I found out about IWC, I immediately contacted them to join and here I am today. IWC has enhanced my Amsterdam life. I am constantly excited by meeting wonderful people and the various activities on offer. 

While I was in Japan, I worked in several organizations including at a bank and news organizations, but I was neither a banker nor a journalist. I was in charge of event management for various industry conferences.   Managing delegates and event logistics were part of my job.

As a second-year Membership Officer, I would like to continue welcoming and supporting new members acclimatize to life in beautiful Amsterdam, through the community that is IWC.
